It may not be a driver's favourite thing, but they are a key way people are kept safe on our roads.

The locations of all the mobile speed cameras in Leeds this week have been revealed, in both core camera sites and community concern sites. A core camera site is an area with a high rate of accidents and casualties, where a community concern site has been highlighted by the local community as an area in which mobile speed cameras may help.

Put in place by the West Yorkshire Police Camera Enforcement Unit on the behalf of the West Yorkshire Safety Camera Partnership, the cameras work by shining a laser on passing cars to determine their speeds. They work in a variety of light and weather conditions.

Here are the mobile speed camera locations for this week across West Yorkshire. These are accurate at the time of publishing but are subject to change without notice.

A61 Wakefield Road/ Leeds Road, Rothwell - between Middleton Lane and Leadwell Lane

A65 Otley Road, Guiseley - between A6038 Bradford Road and B6153 Park Road
