24-Hour Economy Programme Will Drive Inclusive Growth and Global Competitiveness – Goosie Tanoh
May 6, 2025
Accra, Ghana – Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development, Goosie Tanoh, has affirmed that the 24-Hour Economy programme is designed to build a resilient, self-reliant, and globally competitive economy that makes the most of Ghana’s resources while creating inclusive value.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Presidential Committee on Accelerated Export Development at the Jubilee House on Monday, May 5, 2025, Mr. Tanoh, popularly known as Goosie Tanoh, outlined the long-term vision behind the initiative.
“The programme envisions a resilient, self-reliant, and globally competitive economy that optimises asset utilisation and creates value for all its citizens, especially the most vulnerable,” he said.
He explained that the 24-Hour Economy Policy rests on three fundamental pillars, each aimed at transforming the nation’s economic landscape.
“The Programme is built around three fundamental pillars: production transformation, market systems efficiency, and human capital development,” he stated.
Expounding on the first pillar, Mr. Tanoh noted that production transformation is key to breaking Ghana’s overreliance on raw commodity exports.
“Through production transformation, we can move Ghana away from its dependence on raw commodity exports and towards exports of value-added products,” he said.
