Loose Women welcomed Rebecca Wilcox to the panel on Tuesday's (6 May) show, as she joined Charlene White, Brenda Edwards, Janet Street Porter and Jane Moore.

Rebecca, who is the daughter of Dame Esther Rantzen, appeared on the ITV daytime show to discuss the assisted dying bill, as well as her experience of looking after her terminally ill mum.

When asked about Esther's health by host Charlene, Rebecca shut down the question as she revealed her mum prefers to keep things "private".

"So, I get in trouble because I'm overly honest. I share everything. I will tell you absolutely everything about how I am, down to my latest bowel movement, should you so wish," Rebecca told the panel.

She went on to add: "So, I musn't tell you what she's up to because she's private, as she should be. What she has said to me to say, is she loves you, she sends her love, and she's coping."

The panel and the audience were touched by the message from Esther, and Charlene proceeded to thank her from the studio.

Esther was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2023 and it was revealed earlier this year that her medication was no longer working.

Both Rebecca and Esther are advocates of bringing the assisted dying bill to the UK. Esther revealed in December that she had joined the Dignitas assisted dying clinic in Switzerland.
