Jordan Brand and Swarovski Are Releasing a $1,000 Air Jordan 1 Covered in Crystals
May 7, 2025
Rumors started circulating last summer about an Air Jordan 1 adorned with Swarovski crystals, but with just a SKU and no images, sneakerheads have just had to use their imagination to picture the opulent transformation. The forthcoming collaboration just got a lot less mysterious, as a behind-the-scenes video shows what to expect.
The Swarovski x Air Jordan 1 Low “Crystal” duplicates the color scheme of the original “Shadow” edition, only with crystals covering almost he entire upper. Gems of various sizes decorate the black and grey panels and the mustache’s Wings logo has been upgraded as a metal badge, possibly made of silver.
Nike posted a video to the Snkrs of the sneakers being made by hand, and the Air Jordan 1 Low’s shape has been updated to conform better to its original proportions. Although the sneaker will technically be a women’s release, it’s expected to get an extended size run in order to incorporate larger feet.
As has been warned of on other Swarovski sneakers, the crystals could come off during normal wear, and it’s recommended to keep the shoe away from rain, other moisture and abrasive surfaces.
Swarovski and Nike have been ramping up their collaborative efforts since last year with releases including the Air Max Plus, the Ja 2 and several models from Converse. Jordan Brand has undertaken its own efforts to make the Air Jordan 1 more luxurious through the Made-in-Italy “Wings” collection nearing the $1,000 mark.
