The 10 Best Social Links in the Persona Series, Ranked
May 8, 2025
The Persona series has always featured strong casts, both playable and supporting. However, Persona 3 took that a step further with the introduction as the Social Link system, known as Confidants in Persona 5.
Social Links benefit the player mechanically by making their allies and fusions stronger, but the more important aspect for most fans is the stories. By spending time with Social Links, the player helps each character work through personal problems and learns more about them. Given how many Social Links there are across Persona 3, 4, and 5, it’s no wonder some of them stand out as must-completes.

Persona 5’s story doesn’t work without a Confidant like Yoshida’s. He’s a former Diet member trying to regain his position after a scandal and can be found in Station Square giving speeches. Yoshida is a well-meaning and outspoken man who wants to improve life for everyone in Japan and engage voters, but he struggles to make himself heard. Persona 5 is a game about revolution, and Yoshida’s Confidant offers insight into what that looks like from within the political system, which is an important contrast, since the player otherwise solves most problems with magic.
