Uncertainty surrounds Inaki Williams’ injury return
May 7, 2025
Spanish outfit Athletic Bilbao risk losing influential Ghana forward Inaki Williams for the remainder of the campaign following latest injury setback.
The Black Stars attacker suffered an injury last Sunday, ruling him out of the upcoming UEFA Europa League semifinal clash against Manchester United.
The Spanish club travels to Manchester for the crucial return encounter, to be held at the Old Trafford without their top striker due to a muscle injury he is carrying at the moment.
Williams’ absence will surely affect Athletic Bilbao, who are seeking to overturn the 3-0 deficit in the return fixture to secure a place in the final.
Prior to the epic, Athletic Bilbao have confirmed the Ghana international will not be available. Meanwhile, the return of the forward remains unknown: “It remains to be seen whether it will evolve”
“Inaki Williams is not included in the squad list for the trip to Manchester. The striker has not been called up for Thursday's Europa League semi-final second leg at Old Trafford due to a muscle injury to the hamstring of his right hamstring”
Williams was forced off with an injury as his outfit settled for a goalless draw with Real Sociedad in the Spanish La Liga last Sunday. Williams had to be subbed off in the 62nd-minute.
The former Spain international, who has been an important player for Athletic Bilbao this season hopes to recover in time to complete the campaign.
