May 8, 2025
The countdown has begun to the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland
Grab your sequins, shoulder pads and platform boots because the countdown has begun to Europe’s great musical extravaganza – the Eurovision Song Contest.
We are less than a week away from the semi-finals and the grand final is looming large on the horizon like an encore from Lordi.
With 26 acts in the mix, there should be something for everyone – from pop ballads to techno and rap to indie-folk – the full range of musical genres is on offer.
Add to that a selection of costumes that wouldn’t be out of place at a 1970s Elton John concert and it is set to be a night to remember.
For those who need an aide-memoire, here are the details of the dates, acts and odds.

When are the Eurovision 2025 semi-finals?

The Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Basel, Switzerland this year, with two live Semi-Finals on Tuesday 13 May and Thursday 15 May.
Fans will be able to see all the performances from the 37 countries competing in the contest.
This includes the 31 nations selected to compete in the semi-finals, the host nation, and the five who have automatic places in the final: the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.
The semi-finals will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 8pm, featuring commentary from the arena in Basel by the broadcaster’s Eurovision experts Rylan Clark and Scott Mills.
