Signs have gone up at the bakery in the town hall saying that the Gapton Hall branch on the edge of town is the nearest one open.

The message reads: "We've had to temporarily close this shop, we'll be back soon."

It remains unclear as to how long it will be closed for and what the reasons for the sudden and surprise closure are.

This paper has asked Greggs for comment on the situation, but they still have not responded.
