I Tested Baggallini's Bestselling Backpack and Purse — Here's What Was Worth It
May 8, 2025
Baggallini is one of those companies whose products you might not notice... until you do. Full disclosure: I hadn't heard of the brand until I was asked to test a couple of bags for this article. Since that first email, I see these bags everywhere: moms sporting the crossbody bags at school pick-up, travelers with slings slung over their shoulders and backpacks fastened to their luggage. I went into town while testing one of the bags and there was an entire display of Baggallini bags in a gift shop. My life has been a cartoonish montage of Baggallinis for months!
After testing two of the brand's bestselling products for a few weeks, I get it. These bags are well-constructed, rife with useful pockets, surprisingly lightweight, and adjustable to fit various body types.
What's the Deal With Baggallini?
Founded by two flight attendants back in 1995, Baggallini has come a long way. It's now owned by the same parent company that owns Dearfoams (aka those slippers that always seem to land on a list of Oprah's Favorite Things) and you've likely been served a few Instagram ads for its bags, backpacks, and slings.
These bags are beloved by a certain sect of travelers because they were originally constructed with comfort, durability, and security in mind. Turns out, flight attendants know a thing or two about what's important to perennial travelers.
