REI’s best deals of the year come from its much-anticipated anniversary sale, which typically runs through
Memorial Day
weekend. The outdoor outfitter’s online sale section essentially quadruples in size, with steep discounts on packs, shoes, tents, and more. It makes the retailer’s Black Friday sale, quite frankly, look like small potatoes.
For us outdoorsy types, the sale helps usher in the unofficial start to the summer season— and this year’s sale certainly lives up to the hype. Running through Memorial Day, May 26, REI is offering savings of up to a monstrous 70 percent off on some of the premier outdoor gear on the market today. Some of our favorite deals include big-time savings on hydration packs, smartwatches, and lightweight hiking boots.
We’re seeing major savings from noteworthy brands, including Garmin, Patagonia, and Yeti. REI Co-op members have it even better—as expected, there are member-exclusive deals and discount codes for some of REI’s most loyal customers. So if you’re not a member already, now might be a good time to spend an extra $30 for uninhibited lifetime access.
