Dave Portnoy awards rare 9.2 pizza review score – Full list of his top scores ever

Barstool Sports founder and internet pizza authority Dave Portnoy handed out one of his highest-ever scores, with a 9.2 score for a slice of pizza, to a little-known newcomer in Manhattan called Ceres.
Portnoy, who has famously reviewed thousands of slices across the country under his “One Bite” series, visited Ceres, and the verdict quickly went viral among pizza aficionados.
Layering praise on top of the pizza, he said “This is as good as anything I’ve had in Manhattan,” after biting into the cheese slice.
Even more surprising, he awarded it a 9.2, one of the highest scores he’s given in the last few years. “I can’t remember the last time I gave a nine,” Portnoy admitted as he chalked up the now-famous score.
“This is as good as you can get in New York City right now.”
“They’re chef’s chefs,” Portnoy said about the owners. “You can tell from the balance and flavor in the slice. It’s not just pizza, it’s made with love.”
Before even getting to the full pie, Portnoy sampled a tomato slice, and was seriously impressed.
“I’d put this tomato slice up against any slice I’ve ever had,” he said, calling it a “mid to high 8” on its own. Though it wasn’t the slice he officially scored, it clearly set the stage for what would come.
Ceres is on quite the run, having also been featured on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight show as well, with the host calling them a “new pizzeria that I’m loving right now.”
