Below are a few takeaways from the schedule release:

Pittsburgh in primetime

The Steelers are slated to have four primetime games. This makes it 21 straight years that the NFL has scheduled at least four night games for Pittsburgh.

Hello, old friend

Even if Aaron Rodgers doesn’t sign with the Steelers, Week 1 will still be a revenge game for Justin Fields. The newly signed Jets quarterback opened last season as the Steelers starter but was benched for Russell Wilson in Week 7.
Steelers owner Art Rooney II said in the offseason that he would’ve liked for the team to resign either Wilson or Fields. Pittsburgh seemed more interested in resigning Fields, but the Steelers reportedly weren’t willing to pay him $40 million with $30 million in guaranteed money.
In Week 2, star wide receiver DK Metcalf faces his former team, the Seattle Seahawks, while making his Steelers home debut. Pittsburgh traded for Metcalf this past offseason.
In Week 6, former Pitt and Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett returns to Acrisure Stadium with the Cleveland Browns. Pickett is one of five Cleveland quarterbacks battling for the starting job.
