A mom-to-be is asking Reddit for help after her sister-in-law decided to go with a similar baby name to hers
The woman has a connection to the name, she says, while her sister-in-law does not
Commenters are telling her to let it be
A pregnant woman says she is not interested in "sharing" a baby name with her sister-in-law, who recently told her she was considering something similar to her own name choice.
In a post shared to Reddit, the woman writes that she and her sister-in-law are "both pregnant with girls due within 2 months of each other," and she is due first.
"We shared with them the baby’s middle name before they found out they were having a girl and they recently told us they were considering a nearly identical first name and the same middle name," she writes. "When I was surprised that it was almost the same exact name she acted surprised like we haven’t previously shared the name. Which we did on multiple accounts."
While the woman's sister-in-law said she was fine with the two children having nearly identical names, the poster doesn't feel the same.
"I said it could be confusing," she writes, adding that she is "not ok with it."
Now, the sister-in-law has begun sharing her name choice with friends and family and the woman writes that she feels "extremely pressured and manipulated into going along with it."
