Lazarus Episode 6 Unveils Eleina’s Dark Past & It Could Mean Way More Than You Think
May 16, 2025
This article contains spoilers for Lazarus Episode 6, “Heaven is a Place on Earth.”
The sixth episode of Shinichiro Watanabe’s Lazarus is yet another that focuses on Eleina, a quiet character who has steadily been gaining more and more attention within the anime and its fanbase. The episode begins with Douglas Hadine finding another lead on Dr. Skinner, briefing his team on a commune that treated artificial intelligence as a god. To everyone’s surprise, Eleina reveals that this AI’s name is Naga and that the commune that worships it, called “The Tower of the Truth,” is the place of her childhood.
As Lazarus Episode 6 makes clear, the Tower of the Truth is the average cookie-cutter cult, complete with a manipulative leader, a hive-minded community, and sacrificial practices. While it was a short-lived threat that quite literally burned to the ground by the end of the episode, it still left the audience with more lore about Eleina’s character as well as details that could possibly connect her to the man that Team Lazarus and the entire world have been hunting for.

Dr. Skinner’s Mind Becomes a Power-Tripping God
Lazarus Episode 6 centers largely around an AI that was developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology over 15 years ago. This AI was dubbed “Naga.” Later in the episode, Doug discovers that Naga was created in an attempt to mimic a human’s central nervous system and that its blueprint is based on the brain of the world’s most wanted man: Skinner. As a part of an experiment that MIT researchers were conducting, they programmed Naga with, as Doug puts it, “a thirst for power and desire for control.”
