Bones had proven itself to be a consistent ratings machine for FOX throughout its 2005 to 2017 run. A lot changed over that time, and while for now it seems the book has closed on Bones, especially after Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, there is always hope among fans that the show will return in some capacity on the streaming service. The drama series, which took the standard structure of any police procedural and added some unconventional flair, managed to stand out from the competition due to its well-developed characters and unusual cases. Bones was also one of the few long-running shows that actually had the ability to evolve, with consistent examples of change from season to season.

It's almost funny to look back on the Pilot episode and first season of Bones, to see how much has shifted since that initial run. It's fair to say that hardcore fans might not even recognize the show as the same, especially since the formula that the series first settled on was elevated the longer the series ran for. Fans will also recognize that certain characters have left the series so that the actors can move on to greener pastures. Many of them got proper sendoffs, either leaving the team in the show or getting killed off in a grizzly fashion. However, one star of Bones disappeared for good, leaving viewers wondering what actually happened. Daniel Goodman was a stalwart of Season 1 of Bones, but faded from view soon thereafter.
