Hands-On: Tudor Black Bay 58 Burgundy Watch
May 17, 2025
Among the various novelties that Tudor unveiled this year at Watches & Wonders Geneva 2025 is a new version of the Black Bay 58 that showcases a bright metallic burgundy colorway. That said, rather than just being a red-colored version of the same model that has been a mainstay in the Swiss brand’s catalog since its launch in 2018, the new Tudor Black Bay 58 Burgundy ushers in the next generation of BB58 watches. These new models feature a slimmed-down case, METAS Master Chronometer certification, and the option of a rubber strap or two different styles of stainless steel bracelets.
Back when the Tudor Black Bay first debuted in 2012, the model was originally offered with a black dial and a burgundy bezel. From there, a blue-bezel version joined the lineup, and then a black-bezel model was later added to round out the trio of stainless steel Black Bay models. However, when it comes to the smaller Black Bay 58, Tudor has rolled out its colorways in the complete opposite order, with the original BB58 embracing an all-black colorway, the follow-up model rendered in blue, and the latest version now appearing in burgundy. With that in mind, while all three of the larger stainless steel Black Bay divers are fitted with matte black dials, the BB58 models feature dials that match their respective bezel colors, and unlike the previous two versions that were paired with matte dials, the BB58 Burgundy (ref. M7939A1A0RU) has a metallic red dial with radial-brushed sunburst finish.
