Many characters' names have been thrown out, with Finnick Odair, Johanna Mason, and other Hunger Games Victors standing out as the most obvious choices to lead Collins's next Hunger Games book. However, the best story for a prequel may not focus on a Hunger Games Victor at all, but rather another important character who proved pivotal in overthrowing the Capitol: President Alma Coin of District 13. Not only would a prequel centered around Coin help flesh out a criminally underdeveloped part of Panem, but it would also allow for Suzanne Collins to deliver a spiritual successor to her first Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
