VIP Transport Announces New Fares for Passengers
May 20, 2025
A new price increase by VIP JEOUN Transport will start on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. This will affect thousands of Ghanaians who regularly use the service.
According to a news release from the company, this is the first change to fares since April 2024. The company said it agreed with the TRANSPORT GHANA policy, which is run by the National Road Safety Authority.
As of now, an Executive Coach ticket from Accra to Kumasi costs GHC 150. Tickets to Sunyani and Techiman cost GHC 200, and tickets to Tamale, Bolgatanga, and Bawku cost GHC 360, 410, and 430, respectively. Prices for Standard Tour routes have also gone up. It costs GHC 110 to go from Accra to Cape Coast and GHC 315 to go from Accra to Wa.
People have different feelings about the fare increases. Some people, like frequent traveler Kwame Asiedu, didn't like the choice because of Ghana's high cost of living. Other people, like student Abena Mensah, think that the higher fares could make travelling better.
It's possible that inflation, rising fuel prices, and the high cost of vehicle maintenance played a role in the decision. An increasing number of drivers have asked the government to help lessen the effects.
People are changing their journey plans now that the new prices have been set, hoping that VIP JEOUN keeps its promise to make transportation safer and more reliable.
