Nairobi – The newly unveiled Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) is preparing for a grand national launch at Nairobi’s Kasarani Stadium Gymnasium on Tuesday, June 3.
The DCP, associated with former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, has positioned the event as a platform to introduce its vision, unveil its manifesto, and roll out its policy agenda.
How much has DCP paid for Kasarani Stadium venue?
In a formal letter dated May 20, and addressed to the management of the Kasarani Stadium Complex, DCP Secretary General Hezron Obaga confirmed that the venue would host approximately 5,000 attendees.
"The event is expected to host approximately 5,000 attendees, including party members, supporters, invited guests, and members of the press. We plan to use the facility for speeches, performances and interactive sessions aimed at unveiling our vision, manifesto, leadership to the Kenyan public," the letter read.
A proforma invoice issued by Sports Kenya on May 21 detailed the cost of hosting the event at KSh 3,706,800.
The charges cover various items such as hire of the indoor arena, catering levies, and exclusive branding.
The party will also pay for access to VIP suites, live event coverage and activation, as well as cleaning services, kitchenette access, and exhibition space.
