Alex Cooper isn’t holding back when it comes to detailing her whirlwind success in the upcoming Call Her Alex docuseries.

Cooper, 30, launched the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in 2018 under the Barstool Sports umbrella. After some major drama (more on that in a second), Cooper parted ways with former boss Dave Portnoy, but now he’s gearing up for an appearance in Call Her Alex.

“Podcasting at that time was a male dominated field,” Portnoy, 48, stated briefly in the Call Her Alex trailer, which was released on Tuesday, June 3. (Her fellow former Barstool coworker Kevin Clancy is also set to appear in the docuseries.)

The first two years of “Call Her Daddy” featured Cooper alongside former cohost Sofia Franklyn.

“It was the biggest show in the world,” Cooper could be heard saying in Tuesday’s trailer. “But the whole thing broke down.”

To make a long story short, Cooper and Franklyn signed a three-year deal with Barstool, increasing their salaries each year. Following the success of the show, they both got a raise, and Cooper got an additional pay bump for taking on the production side of the podcast. Franklyn’s then-boyfriend allegedly started shopping the show to other networks. Eventually, Portnoy had the “rooftop meeting” with the two women, who were offered $500,000 and ownership of the show. Cooper agreed, Franklyn did not. Cooper stayed at Barstool until June 2021. She is now with SiriusXM.
