Garmin's Forerunner 570 Improves on the 265, But Not Enough to Justify the Price
Jun 3, 2025
It has shockingly good heart rate accuracy and a bigger, brighter screen. But is it worth the extra cost?

The rest of this review will focus on new features and subtle differences between the 570 and other watches, so before we get into those, I’d like to give a rundown of the stuff the 570 does well, that the 265 also did well. Most of what you do with the watch will be using these features, so let’s run through what they are and why they make this a good watch.
Location accuracy is excellent. The 570 supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and BeiDou, and it can do multi-band GPS, for better accuracy around buildings and trees. All of Garmin’s current and recent Forerunners, except the 165 and 55, can say the same.
Heart rate accuracy is also excellent. There is a new sensor in the 570 compared to earlier Forerunners, and it seems to be even better than the previous one.
Physical buttons in addition to a touchscreen. Any good running watch should have physical buttons, and Forerunners are overachievers with five of them. You can operate the watch entirely through the buttons if you like to keep the touchscreen off during activities.
