The Ministry of Education has developed a comprehensive, automated process for students transitioning to Grade 10.
Parents and guardians are advised to follow a step-by-step guide to ensure a smooth application for Grade 10 pathways and school selection.
Below is a detailed guide on how to log in when selecting the pathway.
Step-by-step guide to the Grade 10 pathway and school selection process
Logging into the Portal
To start, open your browser and go to the portal at selection.education.go.ke. On the landing page, click “Log in.” If you’re using a mobile device, click on the three bars on the far right to access the login button.
Enter the Junior School NEMIS UIC and the password associated with the account. Please ensure that you enter the details accurately. During the pilot phase, use the verification code 54321. Once logged in, the system will direct you to the main dashboard.
Selecting the Pathway for Each Learner
After logging in, click on the Pathway Selection tab. For mobile users, click on the three dashes on the far left to access the tab. The system will display a list of Grade 9 learners. Click on each learner’s name to update their profile. You will need to indicate the type of special needs, if any, and confirm who was present during the pathway selection, such as the Parent/Guardian, HOI, Learner, or Class Teacher. Next, enter the Parent or Guardian information and update the Learner Location, including the Home County and Sub-County, as well as the County and Sub-County of residence. You can also add any optional comments. Once completed, click Submit to save the information.
