Director Tarun Mansukhani and actor Shah Rukh Khan share an old connection that dates back to the early days of Tarun's career. As an assistant and associate director, Tarun has worked with Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

In a recent interview, Tarun talked about his early days of filmmaking and how Shah Rukh Khan has been an important part of his journey. He also praised SRK for his dedication on the sets. "He is so dedicated to his work. There's never a day on set with him where the scene isn't completed. You'll never hear him say he wants to go home. It's always, 'Have you finished your work for the day?', he said during an interview with Galatta India.

The Housefull 5 director also revealed how SRK used to stay humble and take charge to get the work done. "I've seen him picking up chairs and helping wrap up shoots quickly when rain was approaching. He'd become like an assistant director just to get things done efficiently. He is so much a part of the crew that you will never feel that he is Shah Rukh Khan. He is always cracking jokes, and most importantly, he constantly teaches you," Tarun shared. When it comes to imparting knowledge, Shah Rukh Khan shared one of the most important advice with Tarun. "I remember just before starting Dostana he told me, 'What you think is direction, like, putting the camera here, or setting the shot is just 1% of filmmaking, 99% of your job is managing people'," he said.
