Michael Stewart says Brendan Rodgers has just signed an ‘absolute colossus’ for Celtic
Jun 11, 2025
The transfer window is always an exciting time for Celtic fans.
Heading into the summer as champions of Scotland, the Hoops support will be looking to see who Brendan Rodgers will bring to Celtic to get their first-team ready for European football.
Celtic’s signing of Kieran Tierney has signalled Rodgers’ intent that he is looking to get their business done early.
And with rumours linking the Hoops to highly-rated Ecuadorian Nilson Angulo, it looks like this is going to be a busy summer for the Parkhead support.
But it seems that the Celtic manager has already made the signing of the summer, according to BBC pundit Michael Stewart.
Michael Stewart says ‘Celtic is a good move’ for Kieran Tierney
Tierney’s Celtic return is the very definition of the return of the prodigal son. Celtic are in the defender’s veins and Stewart believes the Parkhead club have done a tremendous piece of business.
Stewart told BBC Sportsound [12m 30s], “I think getting back to Celtic, it’s going to take him just a little bit of time just to almost feel the love again.
“Brendan Rodgers has got a big job on his hands to I think, get him out of his shell to a certain extent. I mean, Kieran Tierney is an absolute colossus.
“He’s an incredible player. And I’m going to be really interested to see how he starts to come back. Because at the moment, it just feels like there’s a wee bit of scar tissue, not from physical injuries, but I think mentally it’s been tough for him.
