Paramecia Devil Fruit users can achieve a wide variety of abilities that enable them to become superhuman or perform superhuman feats. A Paramecia ability can either alter the user's body, manipulate the environment, or generate a substance. Paramecia users are mighty, but there's an aspect of Devil Fruits that makes them even stronger.

Devil Fruits can awaken. A Devil Fruit Awakening significantly increases the user's abilities; according to Kaidou, an awakening occurs when a Devil Fruit user's mind and body catch up to their powers. For a Paramecia user, a Devil Fruit awakening enables the user to utilize their Devil Fruit at a new level of strength, allowing them to spread their powers beyond their own body to transform or alter the environment. The primary difference is that the Paramecia Devil Fruit enables a user to manipulate the environment from a distance and control their powers with their mind. With this in mind and the finale of One Piece getting closer, the enemies of One Piece are showing intense new powers, and certain fruits won't be able to match up with their current abilities. That's why these Devil Fruits and their users need to Awaken their Devil Fruits to stand a chance against some of the villains and protagonists of One Piece.
