10 Surprising DC Villains Who Lived Into The Batman Beyond Era, Ranked
Jun 15, 2025
The near-future of the DC Universe as portrayed in the Batman Beyond animated series introduced a new Batman in Terry McGinnis, who was mentored by an aging Bruce Wayne. The showrunners generally shied away from recycling Bruce's now geriatric rogues' gallery in place of showcasing original villains, though occasionally, an old familiar face would resurface again.
Batman Beyond featured the return of Mr. Freeze, Bane, Ra's Al Ghul and even Starro on screen, while the animated movie Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker revealed the fate of Harley Quinn and, naturally, the Joker. However, the adventures of Batman Beyond continued across several comic books, which showed even more villains still alive in the potential future.
