BBC Bargain Hunt host speechless as team makes history in record-breaking moment

Bargain Hunt host Eric Knowles was left in disbelief as one team on the BBC show made history before going on to the auction
Bargain Hunt presenter Eric Knowles was left gobsmacked when a team on the popular BBC show set an unfortunate record.
In a repeated episode filled with surprises, contestants Geraldine and Washington failed to stick to the rules set by the programme's producers, managing to secure only two items for auction.
The well-loved series pits two teams against each other in a hunt for hidden treasures that could bring in a tidy profit, but this time around things got off to a rocky start.
Before their crucial moment at the auction house, Geraldine and Washington admitted they "needed positive energy" as they had just a couple of items up for bidding, reports Hello!
However, reality soon hit home, delivered by host Eric himself. He told the pair: "I've got to say, you have made Bargain Hunt history by virtue of you only managing to buy two items."
Their treasure hunting efforts resulted in a coveted Doulton jug and a set of vintage tennis rackets, but they didn't manage to fulfil their assigned task.
Regrettably for them, Eric had to impose the show's penalties, stating regretfully: "The fact you were unable to buy your big spend and your big challenge means that you get penalised, I'm sorry to say."
