Late DoorDash executive Josh Pickles is survived by his family, including wife Jordan Sugar-Carlsgaard.

Pickles was among the eight people who died in a June 21, 2025, boating accident in Lake Tahoe, California. He was 37.

“Josh loved his team and was an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him,” a spokesperson for DoorDash told NBC News in a statement. “During his nearly seven years at DoorDash, he brought a contagious spirit that lifted those around him. The loss of Josh is immeasurable. We miss him deeply and will carry his memory with us always.”

The note added, “Our thoughts and love are with his wife, his daughter, his family, and all who were close to him. We are working to support them through this incredibly difficult time.”

Pickles had been with his parents, his uncle and other family friends on a boat when it capsized in South Lake Tahoe near D.L. Bliss State Park underneath 8-foot waves. Sam Singer, a spokesperson for Pickles’ family, told NBC that the group had been celebrating Pickles’ mother’s birthday. Sugar-Carlsgaard did not attend, staying back with the couple’s 7-month-old daughter.
