On , Kevin Abstract describes ‘Blush’ as “It’s whatever it’s gonna be tomorrow”. No, the alternative polymath isn’t trying to rehash the legacy of BROCKHAMPTON. This album, project, whatever we want to call it, is a shapeshifting entity, and this debut effort from Kevin Abstract and the current roster of ‘Blush’ is proof of that.

Along with Abstract and Dominic Fike, the ‘Blush’ personnel boasts the likes of Danny Brown, JPEGMAFIA, Jim-E-Stack, Romil Hemnani, Daniel Aged, Love Spells, Quadeca, DERBY and even Dr Dre’s daughter Truly Young (among many others). In the lead up to release via the Instagram account clifford__73 there were frequent references to classic Dre records like ‘2001’ and ‘The Chronic’. The influence is clear: Kevin Abstract is curating a sonic vision around individuals rather than specific genres, similar to how Dr Dre operated during the peaks of his career.
