Orange is the New Black enthusiasts will be stunned when they witness Angie Rice actress Julie Lake in her latest venture.
Forget-Me-Not is a fresh musical production making its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe this August, co-created by Lake alongside writer-performer Annie Macleod.
Lake, a two-time Screen Actors Guild Award winner for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, brings her acclaimed talents to this original theatrical collaboration with Annie.
The production draws inspiration from Lake's own real-life friendship with Macleod, particularly how they managed to rebuild their bond following a devastating row.
Critics have hailed the show as "raw, funny and deeply relatable" as it explores themes surrounding "motherhood, creativity, and the quiet, stubborn resilience of female friendship".
Forget-Me-Not chronicles two childhood companions who reunite as adults - one grappling with the challenges of motherhood whilst the other rediscovers her identity after ending her marriage.
The synopsis states: "When a moment of conflict shatters their connection, the silence that follows is shattering in its own right."
It continues: "As the show unfolds, their tentative reconnection becomes a portrait of friendship not frozen in time, but reshaped by it – imperfect, evolving, and profoundly human."
