"They Want Me Dead" — Fadiel Adams Drops Shocking Hit Claim Against DA
Jul 3, 2025
National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader Fadiel Adams has shaken the Western Cape political scene, claiming there's a plan to kill him—allegedly linked to top DA officials. In a tense Facebook Live session on Monday, Adams revealed that he was warned of a plot involving his political rivals and an ex-gang member.
He claims the warning came from Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Carl Pophaim, who allegedly told him that JP Smith—the DA’s safety and security head—had tasked a new councillor, Deidree de Vos, to pressure former gang figure Faiek Moses into silencing Adams.
Adams says De Vos approached Moses, threatening his subcontracting jobs and DA links, allegedly hoping to provoke him into attacking Adams over his political influence in Manenberg. Although the voice note from Pophaim has since disappeared, Adams insists he saved other evidence, including a recorded chat with De Vos.
But JP Smith isn’t taking it lightly. In a statement dated 29 June, Smith dismissed the claims as “misinformation” and accused Adams of seeking attention by building “false narratives” during a critical time when the City is cracking down on gang crime. He confirmed legal action is underway.
With over 200 City officials recently deployed to help SAPS curb gang violence, Smith says these accusations conveniently appear as that clampdown intensifies.
