With three Psych movies in the books (and another three promised), fans of the beloved detective show have been asking when the fourth Psych movie will be released. Recently, promising comments about Psych 4 caught the attention of Psych enthusiasts, although details about any potential forthcoming project remain unclear.

After Shawn Spencer and Burton "Gus" Guster exited the small screen in 2014, the first movie, Psych: The Movie, was released in 2017. Psych 2: Lassie Come Home and Psych 3: This Is Gus came out in 2020 and 2021, respectively, and cast members Timothy Omundson and Maggie Lawson started their podcast, The Psychologists Are In: A Psych Rewatch, in 2021, too.

For each movie in the Psych franchise, the original cast has enthusiastically returned. All indications are that James Roday, Dule Hill, Omundson, Lawson, and the rest of the group will return for more movies, if and when they come to fruition.

In an interview with TVInsider.com, Timothy Ombundson (Carlton Lassiter) made it clear that:

"[Creator] Steve Franks and James Roday Rodriguez were able to write that one before the strike hit. So that was delivered to the network, and I believe it’s sitting on Peacock’s desk. Just waiting for the greenlight to happen, is what I’ve been told. But I’m not entirely up to date on the latest. I do believe there’s even been notes back and forth.... It’s exciting. We’re all ready to go. As soon as they say jump, we’ll say how high."
