The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has officially opened the Subsequent Loan Application window for the 2024/2025 academic year, and thousands of students across Kenya are already logging in to secure their funds.

The HELB Subsequent Application is for students who have already received HELB loans in previous years. If you're a second-year, third-year, or final-year student, this is your opportunity to renew your funding for the upcoming academic year.

How to Apply for the HELB Subsequent Loan (2025)

The process has now gone fully digital, which means no more printing and signing physical forms. Here’s how to do it:

To apply for a subsequent loan, students can use either the HELB mobile app or the USSD code *642#.

1 Download the app: Download the HELB mobile app from the Google Play Store.

2 Login and accept: Log in using the generated PIN and accept the license agreement.
