Diogo Jota: Lamborghini Model Involved in Fatal Crash Had Prior Safety Recalls
Jul 8, 2025
The car that claimed Diogo Jota's and his brother's lives last week has in the past had recall issues, it has emerged.
Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, tragically lost their lives in a road accident after the car they were driving crashed and got engulfed in flames in Spain.

What car was Diogo Jota driving?

Although Spanish authorities didn't establish which brother was behind the wheel at the time of the accident, remnants of Jota's known Lamborghini were found at the scene.
The Liverpool star owned the acid green supercar, a Lamborghini Huracan.
According to its website, it is manufactured in Italy, known for its power. It has a top speed exceeding 325 km/h and accelerates from 0-60 in just 3.1 seconds.
"Lamborghini Huracán is the perfect fusion of technology and design. With its crisp, streamlined lines, designed to cut through the air and tame the road, you’ll get a thrill just by looking at it. The only thing better than taking in this beauty from a distance is actually touching it."
Car and Drive puts its value at around $250,000 (around KSh 32 million).

Why was Lamborghini Huracan recalled?

In 2024, Lamborghini recalled 39 of its Huracan EVO Spyder models due to safety-related issues.
Carscoops reports that the cars manufactured between 2023 and 2024 and sold in the United States were recalled due to their adjustable headlights.
