NatWest announces closure of 55 more branches this year – here's the full list
Jul 8, 2025

NatWest has announced it will close an additional 55 branches later this year on top of the 53 already planned for closure in 2022, as the bank looks to adapt to changing customer behaviours

NatWest has confirmed plans to shutter an additional 55 bank branches in the coming months, on top of the 53 closures already planned for this year. This decision mirrors a wider trend among leading banks to reduce their brick-and-mortar presence as more and more customers migrate to digital banking services.
A statement on NatWest's website reads: "Banking has changed dramatically in recent years, with an increased demand for mobile and online services, as our customers benefit from a faster and easier way to bank.
"Closing a branch is a decision we take very seriously. We know it can affect those less confident with the alternatives we offer.
"We'll always work hard to guide and support you through the changes and find the best way to serve you from now on."
Customers requiring face-to-face services can still avail themselves of any branch within the NatWest group, which encompasses the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Ulster Bank.
The Post Office also provides banking services such as cash deposits and withdrawals, balance enquiries, and cheque deposits, reports the Express.
Moreover, hundreds of 'Banking Hubs' have been rolled out to ensure more customers have access to cash and services regardless of their banking affiliation.
