Lataa Saberwal and Sanjeev Seth, TV couple known for their pairing in the popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, announced their separation last month after 16 years of marriage. While the actress had shared a social media post to make the announcement, Sanjeev maintained his silence about their relationship status. Now, during an interview, he opened up about his separation from his wife saying that ‘what has happened is very sad.’

Speaking to ETimes, Sanjeev said, “We were married for 16 years, and what has happened is quite sad. But I can’t keep sulking and wailing over it. Life moves on, and one must move on; I am currently concentrating on my career."

The TV actor, who has two daughters from his previous marriage to actress Resham Tipnis and a son with Lataa, added, “As of now, I want to spend time with my children and focus on my future."

On the work front, Sanjeev will be making his comeback to Television after a long hiatus of five years with the show, Jhanak. “Before coming on board for Jhanak, I was a part of Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke (2020). I was tired of playing beti ka baap roles and needed a break," he said.

Sanjeev spent his time exploring travel vlogging and posting food and travel content. He explained, “I wanted to do something different, and I found it really exciting. Now, after five years, I’m back on television; it’s a good role, so I took it."
