The Summer I Turned Pretty: season 3's time jump is longer than we thought
Jul 16, 2025
The Summer I Turned Prettyseason 3 time jump is officially longer than we thought. In case you missed it, gearing up for the release of the long-anticipated final season, it was initially teased that the series would pick up after a two-year time jump, mimicking that of the original book series.
However, the series' stars have now confirmed that the time jump between season 2 and season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty is actually four years.
“This season starts four years into the future from what we last saw,” Chris Briney told Extra TV ahead of the new season, which definitely makes more sense for the glimpses that we have gotten about how far Conrad has progressed in med school in teaser images and trailers.
Speaking to Extra TV, Sean Kaufman and Rain Spencer also confirmed the time jump in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 will skip four years ahead instead of two, as we had initially believed.
Speaking to the outlet, Kaufman said Steven is in a “very different place” in season 3. “Obviously, there's a time jump, so we are four years ahead. He has graduated [from] Princeton early magna cum whatever laude — definitely not, but he probably says he did — and he's out in the workforce now. He's working at this firm called Breaker, working with this new character, Denise, and I'm really excited for you guys to see that relationship form.”
