Who Is Ilana Sedaka? Women Behind US Open’s Latest Announcement for Unexpected Tennis Series
Jul 31, 2025
There has been quite a bit of buzz surrounding the US Open, even weeks before the start of the tournament. Earlier this year, the last Grand Slam tournament of the season made an interesting move in regards to the mixed doubles format for the event. Shunning the traditional old format, the US Open announced a 16-team tournament before the start of the singles competition. It will have eight teams based on singles rankings and eight teams selected by the organizers as wildcards. However, this wasn’t the only major move made by the tournament, as it announced a new series by partnering with Ilana Sedaka.
Taking to its Instagram handle, the US Open wrote, “Introducing Game, Set, Matchmaker, a bold new US Open YouTube series that follows one tennis-savvy bachelorette, “the Champion” on her quest to find love, one match at a time. Over the course of 8 episodes filmed during US Open Fan Week, will any of her 7 matches be destined for a real-life doubles partner? The series will air during the tournament!”

Sedaka will be the leading star in the series, and it will follow her and other members of the series as she seeks a match during one of the biggest tennis events of the calendar year. Meanwhile, Sedaka is no stranger to the sporting world. She is a gold-medalist figure skater and has achieved tremendous success on the ice rink. She took to skating at a very young age of 4 and achieved success early on in her career.
