Batman has some pretty epic counterparts across the multiverse. A Victorian era Batman, a vampire Batman, an '80s version of Batman. While these are some of the most iconic Elseworlds stories DC has ever told, some of these characters pale in comparison to the evil versions of the Dark Knight. Realistically, Batman is already one of the most terrifying beings in the DCU. Heroes and villains alike fear him, and rightfully so. Now imagine what could happen if he put all his drive and skill towards villainy. He would be practically unstoppable.

In a multiverse of infinite possibilities, this has come to pass more often than not. Evil versions of Batman tend to win because they now have all of Batman's talent, but none of the limitations he imposes on himself to avoid crossing any moral lines. Some are more dangerous than others, either due to their capacity for destruction or just sheer evil. To take a character like Batman, someone meant to inspire fear in others, and twist him into something darker, makes these characters some of the most disturbing in the DC multiverse.

The Red Death is perhaps one of the most dangerous Batman variants out there. In the hands of a typical supervillain, the Speed Force can transform them into a potentially world-ending threat. Someone who could murder in the blink of an eye or potentially even rewrite history. On Earth -52, Batman recognized how useful this ability could be and decided to steal it from the Flash. He took down the Flash's rogues gallery and used their various weaponry to hunt the Flash down before strapping him to the hood of his Batmobile to steal his connection to the Speed Force. The Red Death debuted in Dark Days: The Casting #1 (Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo) along with other members of the Dark Knights.
