Two British nationals jailed nine years in Zimbabwe for drug trafficking
Aug 7, 2025
Two Brits, Tihaise Darlin Elisha and Taylor Tamara Simone, were on Tuesday sentenced to nine years in prison in Zimbabwe for drug trafficking.
Mr Elisha, a 19-year-old man and Ms Simone,  a 21-year-old woman, were caught with over 66kg of cannabis at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in May.
Upon their trial, the Harare Magistrates’ Court convicted the duo, slamming them with nine years in prison.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) applauded the sentencing, describing it as a strong statement against drug trafficking.
“No matter your nationality, the law will catch up with you. Airports are not gateways for crime,” NPAZ’s statement read.
