Jessa Duggar Seewald and her husband, Ben, have revealed that their new baby, born Saturday, July 26, is a boy. The couple has chosen a name but is waiting to reveal it to the public. All of their boys are named after theologians.

The Seewalds have a tradition of finding out the gender of their children prior to birth and keeping the gender a secret until the baby is born. Then, the Seewalds tell their other children the baby’s gender and let the siblings tell the news to the rest of the family.

Jessa Duggar Seewald is the fifth child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, whose family was featured on the reality show “19 Kids and Counting.” Seewald also appeared in the spinoff “Counting On.” Her new son is her parents’ 39th grandchild.

The Seewalds welcomed their sixth child into the world after Seewald had a seven-and-a-half hour-long labor. She had a frightening experience when, after her water broke, she saw a large blood clot. “That really scared me,” she said.

Seewald described the ensuing ride to the hospital as “the longest 15 minutes of my life.” The baby, however, was ok. Once Seewald arrived at the hospital, the medical staff found a strong heartbeat.

The Seewalds’ latest video shows four of their children saying whether they think the baby is a boy or a girl and then going to meet their new brother. The children are excited to meet their new sibling—although 1-year-old George is ready for his nap. The two oldest Seewald boys, Spurgeon and Henry, are especially happy to have a new baby brother.
