Killinaskully cast 20 years on - families, marriages and dramas
Aug 10, 2025

It's been over 20 years since Killinaskully first aired on Irish television, so here we take a look at what the cast of the iconic Irish comedy have been up to since they left the odd little village

Killinaskully first aired in 2003, and from 2004 it became part of RTÉ's regular Sunday night programming. It had a five-year stint before the last episode was shown in 2008.
A comedy series, it detailed the bizarre goings-on and adventurous lives of residents in a fictitious rural Irish village called Killinaskully.
An amalgamation of all the stereotypical tropes of rural Ireland and the weird and wonderful characters it produces, Killinaskully was written by comedian Pat Shortt.
Shortt starred in the comedy himself, taking on the hilarious and cringe-worthy characters of Dan Clancy, corrupt politician Willie Power, bed and breakfast proprietress Goretti, teacher Louis Cantwell and local-man Pa Connors.
The name of the show itself is a combination of the names of the two rural Irish locations in which it was filmed, Killoscully and Ballinahinch in Co. Tipperary.
Now, over 20 years on from the show's beginnings, we're taking a look back at what the cast of the funny little village sitcom have been up to in the decades since.
