Alicia Silverstone thought she was dating Cary Elwes after filming kiss for ‘The Crush’: ‘This is my man’

Alicia Silverstone had a big crush on Cary Elwes.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly published Saturday, Aug. 16, the “Clueless” star opened up about making her film debut in 1993’s “The Crush.”
Silverstone, who was just 16 at the time, starred in the psychological thriller alongside Elwes, then 30, and she told the outlet that it was a dream come true – even despite the pair’s 14-year age difference.
“I just remember that, when I was little, telling people that I was ‘going to kiss the boy from The Princess Bride, but he’s a lot older than me,'” she shared. “We had this kiss in the film and, because I was young, I thought that meant he was my boyfriend now.”
“Not really, but a little bit,” Silverstone added. “I went to his trailer and asked him if that was okay, and he was so kind.”
Years later, when Elwes’ wife, Lisa Marie Kubikoff, sent Silverstone pictures from the set of “The Crush,” the “Batman & Robin” star still pretended that Elwes was her boyfriend.
“Lisa Marie, his wife, sent me pictures from back in the day where we’re lying together, and I’m looking at her while she’s taking the picture like, ‘This is my man,'” Silverstone joked.
Silverstone also admitted that Elwes was nothing less than a gentleman during their time filming together, and that the “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” actor was more like a big brother to her.
