25m - 5 year relationship now feels like we’re just mates
Nov. 06, 2019
Hoping for a bit of advice as I’ve been thinking this over for a while now. I’ve been with my partner (26f) for about 5 years now, and been living together for 2. The last year or so I sort of feel like the spark in the relationship has gone, and it feels like we’re now just really good friends. I can’t say a bad word about her and we get on perfectly, just the lust side isn’t there anymore, and that at the minute we’re both scared of change.
I’m wondering is this fairly natural when being with somebody for so long or is this a red flag? I want to say something to her but she’s fairly emotionally fragile and worried this would really upset her.
tl;dr! - feels like the spark is gone and we’re now only friends...
