Frank Lampard's Chelsea are reportedly trying to steal a march as he plots to build a title-challenging squad.
The Blues boss has already landed Ajax's Hakim Ziyech and striker Timo Werner.
Havertz would be seen as the final piece in the puzzle in Chelsea's new-look attack.
And the Telegraph write how they have been handed a massive boost with the player ready to force a move away from the club.
Journalist Alfredo Pedulla also believes the club will need to fork out big money to lure him to Stamford Bridge after being given the green light following talks with the player's agent.
Havertz still has a contract at Leverkusen until the summer of 2022.
It was reported how Lampard is ready to sell six players in order to raise the £90m required to land the forward.
The likes of Michy Batshuayi, Marcos Alonso, Danny Drinkwater, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Kenedy and Emerson Palmieri could all be heading out.
