Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sends warning to Manchester United players about Aston Villa star Jack Grealish
Jul 8, 2020
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Manchester United will need to be ‘aware’ of the threat and talent of Jack Grealish when they face Aston Villa but insists Dean Smith’s side are far more than just a one-man team.
Grealish has racked up seven goals and six assists across the Premier League campaign as captain of struggling Villa and his outstanding performances have reportedly made him one of United’s top targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
Many are viewing Thursday night’s clash as an audition for Grealish in front of his potential suitors and Solskjaer has made no secret of his admiration for the sought-after midfielder.
The Englishman impressed as Villa held the Red Devils to a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford back in December, breaking the deadlock with a sublime curled effort in the 11th minute and wreaking havoc all afternoon from the left flank.
‘I think the last game obviously they caused us some problems, both Grealish off the left and [Anwar] El Ghazi off the right,’ United’s head coach said at his press conference on Wednesday.
‘He scored a fantastic goal. There’s been lots said and talked about him and we need to be aware of him.
‘Whoever is close to him, if he’s off the left, in the middle or on the right. What he does is attract players to him and creates space for others.
