Teenager In Police Grips For Allegedly Raping And Inflicting Knife Wound On A Female Teenager

A young man, Godiya Ishaku, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing and raping an 18-year-old girl in the Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State. It was revealed in a police statement that the suspect was arrested on February 3, following a report made by one Prince Yohanna.
The statement read; “On 03/02/2021 at about 0530hrs, one Prince Yohanna, a Staff of National Identity Card registration Tafawa Balewa L.G.A reported that on the same date at about 0300hrs, one Godiya Ishaku of same address induced one Blessing (not real name) aged 18yrs of Dot in Dass L.G.A, took her to an uncompleted building with a knife inflicted injury on her hand and raped her”.
According to SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, spokesperson of the State Police Command, on receipt of the report, a team of policemen were drafted to the scene and the victim rushed to General Hospital Tafawa Balewa for medical examination.
SP Wakil went on that the suspect was arrested afterwards while an investigation is still in progress. He further requested the public to assist them with the investigation.
However, residents are still living in fear as they recounted of another two suspects who have been arrested by operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command for raping their neighbour’s mentally-challenged 16-year-old daughter in Azare town.
Also confirming the incident, SP Wakil in a statement said the suspects, Kabiru Nuhu, 20, and Ado Auwal, 19, conspired, took and raped the victim in an uncompleted building.
“On 11/2021 at about 1600hr one Muhammad Abubakar aged 50yrs of Tatari Ali quarters Azare reported that on the same date at about 1500hrs, one Kabiru Nuhu aged 20yrs and Ado Auwal aged 19yrs of same address criminally conspired and had unlawful carnal knowledge of his mentally challenged daughter, one Hasiya (not real name) aged 16yrs in an uncompleted building,” the statement says.
A team of detectives were drafted to the scene after the incident was reported. The victim was rushed to General Hospital Azare while the suspects were arrested. During interrogation, the suspects made voluntary confessional statements admitting to have committed the offence.
The residents are afraid of what their young children are getting involved in. Nevertheless, parents have been advised to keep an eye on their children.
