Man dies five days after being hit by a driver in west end

An 84-year-old man is dead after being hit by a driver in the west end, according to police.
Police received reports of the incident at around 11:20 p.m. on Nov. 22. When they arrived at the scene, near St. Clair Avenue West and Christie Street, they said the victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and the suspect had driven away.
After five days in the hospital the man succumbed to his injuries on Nov. 27.
Police are still searching for the suspect driver, who was last seen near Keele Street. In a Nov. 23 press release, Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook described the vehicle as a blue Volkswagen SUV with possible damage to the front of the car.
