City set to resume neighbourhood blading services Friday morning
Feb. 13, 2020
The City of Edmonton will resume blading residential streets early Friday morning after breaking earlier this week over heavy snowfall.
The city will begin blading at 12:01 a.m. and continue through the weekend to ensure residential roads are clear for commuters Monday morning, a city news release said Thursday.
Edmontonians are asked to remove their vehicles from the street on their neighbourhood’s designated blading days. The blading schedule can be found on the city’s website.
Silver Barry and Gold Bar are part of a parking ban pilot project that will see the neighbourhoods bladed over two days. The side of the road where houses have odd numbers will see a parking ban on Mondays and the other side of the street will have a parking ban on Tuesdays.
The city’s standard is to blade down to five centimetres however due to warm temperatures this winter some areas will be cleared down to bare pavement.
