PSG 2-0 Borussia Dortmund: Neymar And Bernat Send PSG Into UCL Quarters
March. 12, 2020
PSG are through to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal for the first time since 2016 after overcoming Borussia Dortmund 2-0 (3-2 on aggregate) in their clash staged in France on Wednesday night.
PSG knew that anything other a convincing win early on was going to be detrimental and their seriousness was shown by the kind of display they put on a show.
With Neymar, Cavani and Di Maria leading their attack in the absence of Mbappe who started on the bench, Dortmund struggled in the earlier stages and it was not surprising when they took the lead in the 28th minute through Neymar.

After winning a corner, Di Maria floated in a sumptuous box in the Dortmund box with the unmarked Neymar giving PSG the lead with a diving header much to the delight of the PSG bench.
With the goal, PSG didn’t relent in attacking and were rewarded for their efforts a minute into the break when Dortmund defender Piszczek turned the ball into his own net.
Neymar wriggled into space mid-way inside the Dortmund half and then played in Barnat, whose low cross from the right took a nick off Piszczek and carried on into the far corner of the net for a PSG 2-0 lead at the break.
